Celebrating Halloween 2025 in Charleston

Things are starting to get spooky in the Lowcountry.

Halloween is just around the corner, and so are all of the fun holiday events around the Charleston area. If you have a trip planned for this Fall, you'll want to check out these recommendations for must-see events around town. There are options for families with young children, adults wanting to relive some Halloween cult classics, and every group in between.


This family-fun event hosted by the Charleston police department provides a safe alternative to trick-or-treat and check out cool police car displays. There will be prizes, live music, food, and more! People are encouraged to come in costume and bring their "spooky spirit."

A lively DJ will set the mood with haunting tunes and keep the energy high throughout the event.

Spooky season is upon us, and we're getting ready for Halloween at Hutson Alley! Tickets include an all-you-can-eat oyster roast, 3 drink tickets, a pumpkin prepped and ready for carving, and more themed activities! Drink tickets can be used for a seasonal draft beer or Halloween-inspired cocktails.

All carving supplies are provided, and prizes will be awarded for the most creative, spookiest, best traditional carving, and more!

Kick off your Halloween celebrations at The Charleston Museum with a new take on our Nighttime at the Museum event! Wear your eerie-sistible costumes and explore the Museum as you trick or treat through the galleries with a spook-tacular scavenger hunt! Have a scream with hauntingly fun activities and crafts! The attractions at Boone Hall Fright Nights are designed to frighten and to entertain. Various creatures and special effects are contained within three attractions (haunted houses, a hayride, and spooky characters). These attractions are not recommended for guests under the age of 12 or those who do not like being scared.

Since 1997, the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch has grown to be one of the largest fall festivals in the state. 2025 will be the 29th year for this event, which has become an autumn tradition that brings people of all ages together for a day of good old-fashioned fun on the farm. Families can experience an elaborate corn maze, a family-friendly tractor tour, gravity-defying performances from the World Famous Wallendas Family, an LED 9-hole mini-golf course, Doc's Variety and Magic Show, a petting zoo and pony rides, live music, pig races, an interactive HoneyBee exhibit,  a pumpkin patch, a variety of food vendors, and SO much more!

The MUSC Family Fall Festival is designed especially for children and families across the community. Come dressed in costume and enjoy a safe, fun-filled afternoon of trick-or-treating with a twist! Over 100 MUSC student leaders will host interactive tables featuring creative games and activities — no candy!

Highlights include: Themed activity tables, hands-on crafts, colorful face painting, non-edible giveaways, and lots of games!
